Deck Space & Part Loads

Too much for a pallet rate, not enough for a whole truck. Take the metres you need on a scheduled vehicle and pay for those.

Why it works

Pay for the deck you use

Our own trucks run the Durban to Johannesburg lane on a schedule whether they are full or not. Selling the space that would otherwise travel empty is cheaper for you and better for us.

It suits an awkward consignment: long, heavy, or simply more than a pallet rate was built for, and it is often the right answer for a backload.

What the desk needs

Deck space is sold by the metres your cargo occupies, with weight as the second limit.

Metres or pallet spaces

How much of the deck it takes, or the dimensions so we can work it out.

Weight

The total. A dense consignment can reach the truck's limit before it fills the deck.

Lane and dates

The two towns, the day it can load, and whether the delivery day is fixed.

Loading and offloading

Tail-lift, forklift, crane or labour, at either end. It changes the price and the vehicle.

Sharing a deck, not a risk

  • Loaded and secured for the road, with cargo separated so one consignment cannot damage another.
  • Dangerous goods are not simply loaded beside anything: they follow the hazardous rules on segregation.
  • Counted on and counted off at both ends, against your job.
  • Follow it with your waybill number on our home page.

Grown into a full vehicle, or oversized? Then it is a dedicated truck or an abnormal load, and we will say so rather than squeeze it.
